OBITUARY
To God be the Glory as we celebrate the life of Joseph Sydney “Wee” Grenville.
Sydney Grenville transitioned from the earthly realm to being in the arms of the Heavenly Father, resting peacefully where there is no more sorrow, so take comfort my dear ones in the following verse:
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would
have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14: 1-2

Sydney Grenville affectionately known as “Wee”, “Siddie”, ”One Hand”, was born on January 24, 1928 in Georgetown, Guyana to the late Phillip and Mary Grenville. He was the third of ten children of whom he outlived except one. His loving wife Euna of over 50 years, predeceased him in 2008. He was a strong, hardworking man with one hand whose disability became an ability because there were no limitations of what he can achieve.
During his early years, he worked at the Burma Rice Mill until he retired in 1990. Siddie, who was a natural politician, loyal, steadfast, dependable, was a stalwart of the People National Congress, he was well known to the founding fathers of the party, and very involved in the local and regional community activities.
He travelled around the region to attend various meetings and stood firm for the grass roots causes. He was fortunate enough to have the then President of the APNU at his 90th birthday party. Siddie migrated to the United States of America in 1991 to join his daughter Dawn and her family. He obtained a job as a painter at East Orange General Hospital where he worked for a few years.
His painting abilities were paramount to none, hence the saying, “many hands made light work” however in his case it was one hand that made work light and complete. Even in his 90’s, Siddie was in phenomenal health, in 2019 he
orchestrated the Daniels Family Reunion which was a success because of his determination and drive to bring the family together. This is a testimony of how important family relationships are to him.

Siddie was an amazing, loving, kind, caring and generous man,
who was very grateful for the life he lived. He answered the call of
God when He said “come home” on January 8, 2021 just 16 days shy of his 93th birthday.
Siddie was looking forward to celebrating this day surrounded by his loved ones. Siddie loved all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren unconditionally, he instilled in all of us to be kind, be respectful, hardworking and to “Share whatever you have”.

Siddie is survived by his 8 children: Terry Ann, Dawn (Errol),
Olwyn (David), Mervyn (Carolyn), Gina (Rawle), Larry (Carla) and Eureka (Leslie) of the USA. Kevin (Marilyn) and also Clairmont and Rodwell (deceased).
Grandchildren (28): Wilmot, Shondell, Treshell (Deceased), Hartley, Jewel, Deiniol (Deceased), Tameka, LaToya, LaTasha, Shanomae, Neil, LaShanna, Alex, Millissya, Shenella, Leslon, Leandro, Nayasha, Lebert, LaShunda, Nyal, DeShaun, Brittany, Takobe, Kayla, Josiah, Jaylen and Samantha.
Great Grandchildren (28): Shaun, Christopher, Anthony, Madison, Jessica, Tatiana, Elijah, Kera, Joshua Amaya, Jasmine, Larissa, Taylor, Emani, Leanna, Jeremiah, Ayva, Destiny, Zion, Victoria, Kaleb, Joheim, Lauren, Phoenix, Caiden, Jayce, Jaden and Daneil.
Brother: Reginald Grenville
Nieces & Nephews: Milton, Stephen, Terrance, Trellon, Roxanne, Colleen, Debbie, Gershwin, Kim, Orla, Barbara, Delroy, Royden and many others.
Cousins: Daniels, Fraser, Nobles, Wilson, McPherson, Edwards and many others.
Friends: George Solomon, Leland Saul, Eon Noble and many others.
Sydney will be greatly missed by all of his family, friends andloved ones. He was highly favored and truly blessed.
